Babson Reunion
2023 Babson Family Reunion A Resounding Success
On a sunny Saturday, August 5th, over 230 ancestors of Isabel Babson and her son James gathered in the field next to the James Babson Museum in Rockport, MA for a traditional New England Clambake. Babson family members traveled from around the US, representing Babson generations 12 through 15, to enjoy a weekend of activities organized by the Babson Historical Association Board of Trustees.
On Friday, reunion attendees could choose from a variety of activities which included: a tour the Babson-Alling House (thanks to the Cape Ann Museum) , sailing out of Gloucester Harbor on a schooner, or going out on a whale watch cruise. The Saturday reunion event included conversations with our genealogist, visits to the museum, a variety of fun field games enjoyed by all, the reunion picture along with many family and generation shots, an exceptional New England Clambake, and finally, the ever popular “Babsons Through History” musical. Reunion attendees were also able to pick up their pre-ordered reunion t-shirts and commemorative bowls handmade in Gloucester especially for the reunion.
On November 12th the Babson Historical Association Board of Trustees voted to return reunion events to the 5 year cycle. The next Babson Reunion will take place in 2027.
